Operation Modes

The special construction with its extremely efficient combination of Free Cooling and evaporative cooling reduces energy costs. The system has been optimized to such an extent that in most regions, 100% mechanical cooling is no longer necessary.

Cooling Configurations

Indirect evaporative Free Cooling

This mode is the ideal solution when the outdoor ambient conditions are suitable to reach the room supply temperature set point without the need of additional mechanical cooling. Only the adiabatic Free Cooling system is enough to achieve the required cooling capacity.

Indirect evaporative Free Cooling with Top-Up integrated DX cooling system

An integrated DX Top-Up cooling system helps the Air Handling Unit to achieve the required cooling capacity when the extreme outdoor ambient conditions are reached. The complete DX system (evaporator/compressor/condenser) is inside the unit. The top-up DX system can reach up to 30% of the total required cooling capacity.

Indirect evaporative Free Cooling with CW Coil Top-Up/Redundant cooling

In case of extreme outdoor ambient conditions, the adiabatic cooling system is complemented by an integrated chilled water coil connected to a remote chiller. Options for the full CW coil redundancy or top-up are available.

Indirect evaporative Free Cooling with redundant DX cooling system

In this configuration the Air Handling Unit is equipped with a DX coil (evaporator and compressors) which connects to an outdoor condensing unit allowing the system to reach 100% redundancy only with the DX system.
